# How to Create a Template

This page walks you through creating a **template message** for WhatsApp broadcasts. Meta needs to approve each template before you can use it. Templates can include text, images and buttons, along with settings such as category and language.

1. Choose the Broadcast menu
   * From the main navbar, click **Broadcast**.
2. Add a new template
   * In the **Template Message** section, click **Add Template**.
3. Fill in the template details
   * Enter:
     * **Template name**
     * The **WhatsApp platform/inbox** it will use
     * **Language** (the template's language)
     * **Category** (the message category)
4. Add a header (optional)
   * You can choose a header with:
     * Text
     * Photo
     * Video
     * Document
5. Write your message in the body
   * Fill in the **Body** with the message you want to send your customers.
6. Add buttons (optional)
   * There are three types of button:
     * **Quick Reply**
     * **Visit Website** (up to 2 buttons)
     * **Call Phone Number** (up to 1 button)
   * **Note**: you can add up to **10** buttons in total.
7. Click Create
   * Once everything's filled in, click **Create** to save the template.
8. Use the template in a campaign
   * Your new template is ready to use in broadcast campaigns.
